This has also become my prayer focus for this year. We have begun developing a discipleship multiplication model based on Jesus’ model in Mark 1:17 — calling people to follow Him and become fishers of people.
Our vision is to see discipleship multiplied across nations, and our 10-year goal is to reach and impact 5 million people through intentional disciple-making and leadership multiplication.

I think this post was highly encouraging for me because it's shifting the focus of where I want my competence. What was helpful for me in particular as someone who hasn't been at LIFT as long as many others was that it's shifting my idea of a campus pastor. Instead of it being someone who "disciples harder" or "evangelizes better", it's truly just a different servant role, and one more focused on leadership. That's hard, but it's not so hard that it's not attainable. It's something well within my reach.
What does preaching look like in your church gatherings? How do you prioritize the simple disciple-making among a larger gathering and (as you noted) the work/skills it takes to lead that well?
Thank you for sharing this. I agree that leadership begins with the condition of our own heart before it ever influences others. Scripture teaches that before we can lead well, we must first submit ourselves to God's leadership. Proverbs 4:23 says, Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. True leadership is not primarily about position or authority, but about character, humility, and obedience to God. Jesus demonstrated this perfectly when He led by serving. Mark 10:45 says, For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. I am also reminded of 1 Timothy 4:16, Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them. Effective leadership starts with allowing God to shape us before we seek to influence others. May we all grow in Christlike character, lead by example, and faithfully steward the responsibilities God has entrusted to us. Thank you again for this encouraging reflection.
