LIFT Church

LIFT Church exists to see students made fully alive in the hope of Jesus by being the church on every campus. LIFT was started in 2006 at McMaster University with a vision to see students come to know Jesus. After seven years of fruitful ministry, the vision of LIFT grew to include a heart for all campuses and a desire to walk as a family of believers who make disciples. As a result, we are present on six campuses in Southern Ontario with faith that we will be on ten campuses by the end of 2026.

We start at each new campus humbly with what we call a Simple Church: a handful of missionaries and students meeting together in a home to pray and study scripture, do evangelism on campus, serve their city, and worship together on Sundays. As that group begins to grow, it multiplies into new Simple Churches. Through Simple Church, everyone is invited to discover Jesus, be discipled, and ultimately learn to disciple others in fulfillment of the great commission.

Each of our Campus Pastors, Missionaries, and Simple Churches leaders are trained through discipleship programs we have developed that are geared to bring someone from no or little knowledge of Christ to someone who can be trained and sent to a new campus to share the gospel and begin a church.
